Wheatland, WY has four areas within its boundaries that are mainly designed for short walks, children’s play, and exercising pets. The Seminoe State Park was once a prime site for gold prospecting. Surrounded by the Seminoe Mountains, the 1,639-acre park provides visitors with the opportunity to take in some stunning scenery while hiking, biking, or camping. 4. Guernsey State Park
Guernsey State Park surrounds Guernsey Reservoir, which is host to swimming, fishing, boating, and other water-based activities. Some of the best examples of Civilian Conservation Corps are located within the park, with the Castle and Brimmer Point offering spectacular views over the park. The park is well known for its extensive network of trails which offer stunning views over the park itself and the reservoir.
5. Medicine Bow National Forest
Medicine Bow National Forest extends from north-central Colorado to central Wyoming and offers the perfect location for a range of recreational activities year-round. Scattered throughout the park are eight mountain lakes, all with boating facilities. The area hosts miles of hiking opportunities. Due to the different terrains, hikers should be aware the weather can change suddenly and pack accordingly.
